I must say that Ferris Wheel Press has done it again: they have created a beautiful collection filled with details that can be appreciated from the very moment you hold one of these exclusive pieces in your hands. The design of the boxes, the embossed storage sleeve, the engravings on the cap, grip, and nib of the pen, as well as the threaded ink bottle cap, transform each collectible piece into a true work of art.

Joule Fountain Pen Slytherin House

The fountain pen I received for this review is the Joule Fountain Pen – Slytherin House, featuring the house’s iconic serpent emblem and its distinctive green and silver color palette.

In a previous blog post, I shared a detailed review of Ferris Wheel Press’s Joule pen line, and this edition maintains the same signature design style. It is crafted from a solid brass body and finished with radiant lacquers. The grip section, nib, and the decorative trim on the cap threads feature a silver finish, making it a particularly unique and striking piece within this collection.

The engravings on the grip feature the house mascot and relic: the unforgettable serpent and Salazar Slytherin’s locket, marked with an “S.” Every detail of the Slytherin Joule fountain pen reflects the qualities that the Sorting Hat sought in the students of this house: cunning, resourcefulness, and ambition.

Members of Slytherin House are natural leaders self-assured, confident, and ambitious and I can say that the Joule fountain pen embodies these very qualities. Its substantial weight and cylindrical shape give it perfect balance and the stability expected from a writing instrument designed to deliver an exceptional writing experience. Engraved on the cap threads is the Latin phrase Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus, which translates literally as “Never tickle a sleeping dragon.” This is the official motto of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter universe. It is a detail that does not go unnoticed by fans thanks to both its elegance and its significance.

The Golden Snitch Ink

This is one of the most beautiful inks I have had the opportunity to try from Ferris Wheel Press. Its rich ochre tone, enhanced by abundant golden shimmer, gives it remarkable character and personality.

The cap is a symbol of victory and celebration, featuring a sculpted Golden Snitch, an icon synonymous with determination and resilience. The wide-mouth glass bottle holds 38 ml of liquid treasure, an ink that deserves a place on every desk.

This ink can be used with fountain pens, dip pens, and brushes. It is pure magic and perfectly suited for both writing and illustration.
